waging a war
against the whole world
snatching away our hopes
pushing us to the corner
and dissevering us apart
I know that we stand on the edges
of crushing reality and our dreams
Lost in fleeting memories, we slowly fade
Alas! We will be no more, but your touch remains.
God it’s hot.
Blazing heat spreads
as the years go by..
Infernal wrath descends
to slay the fans and ACs
to force us inside rooms all day
to dry our throats and drown us in sweat
to melt ice creams and make us detest clothes.
Now kneel and suffer Gaia’s scorching revenge.
with silk and
spices and gems
were oddly unique
casting spells upon us
a sight for the curious
a traveller’s tale of kingdoms
we aren’t old itinerant traders
when we rarely return as men who left.
near the eyewall
hoping it will pass
and we will never know
that as our worlds collided
we lost all that we ever loved
swallowing our ephemeral hopes
yet we smiled, at last, we were together
I met them
the ones who see
the ones who travel
the ones who gallivant
the ones who experience
I asked them if they were happy
they smiled at me and I knew they were
I often wonder should I be too- now
